Boylston
offers special events year round, including ongoing events at the Wachusett Reservoir and Tower Hill Botanical Garden. Boylston is situated in Central Massachusetts' Worcester County, where close to 2.5 million people visit each year. From theater and musical events, festivals and fairs to horse and sleigh rides in the winter, there is something for everyone in Worcester County. Also, keep in mind that the town of Boylston is only an hour to Boston, where countless special events can be found for people of all ages.
Wachusett Reservior Programs:
Classroom programs and field trips are offered to schools and groups in or bordering the watershed areas, and to MWRA service communities. Topics range from water's behavior and physical properties, watersheds, cultural and natural history of the watershed areas.
Teacher Workshops - The Wachusett Ranger staff offers teacher workshops on Watersheds, Project WET, water system history and other topics.
The Stillwater Farm Interpretive Site in Sterling is an environmental education facility jointly managed by the Division of Watershed Management and the Friends of the Wachusett Watershed, Inc. This 55 acre site on the Stillwater River hosts an 18th century farmhouse, 19th century dairy barn, and a self-guided interpretive trail. These facilities provide individuals and groups an opportunity to better understand the connections between land use and community character, and between natural resource protection and land management.
Tower Hill Botanical Garden – Special programs and events are held year round, including Winter Wonder Walks and Create a Winter Craft programs for children. The Holly Days Celebration is a month-long special event at the botanical garden that is usually held in late November thru the end of December.
Polar Express Celebration at Wachusett Mountain – Christmas crafts, cookies, candy and a visit from Santa Clause. Usually held the weekend before Christmas.
New Year's Eve Celebration at Wachusett Mountain – Special ski packages and a champagne package available.
